Aortyx and CIMNE collaboration thrives

It’s been a remarkable journey since our last update on Aortyx’s collaboration with CIMNE under the project titled “SIMUPATCH – Validación in silico e in vitro de la seguridad y la eficacia de un dispositivo médico para el tratamiento de disección aórtica”. One year on, we are thrilled to share our latest progress in the development of a solution for aortic dissection (AD).

In the past few months, Aortyx and CIMNE have been diligently working to characterize the deployment of our adhesive patch using several computational simulations and laboratory experiments. These efforts have been pivotal in understanding the key parameters at each stage of the patch implantation process and have helped to significantly advance in the prototyping phase of our device. Besides, we have been able to recreate various AD computational models that have been useful to define the operational limits of our device. Thanks to that, we’re proud to say that our team has a functional prototype that successfully navigates, deploys, and implants the patch in the most tortuous 3D printed AD models. This achievement represents a major milestone in our journey to revolutionize AD treatment.

With every breakthrough, we move closer to providing a life-saving solution that holds the potential to transform the lives of many patients. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to pioneer innovation in healthcare.
